Mary Mumba is the CEO of the Zambia Credit Guarantee Scheme and a leader in financial inclusion, recognized with the 2023 Business Leadership Excellence Award. With a background in banking and degrees in Public Administration, Microfinance, and Business Administration, she has also trained at Harvard Business School and the Coady Institute. Mary holds additional certifications in Credit and Compliance Management and Law and Regulation of Inclusive Finance.

Mary has an extensive background in banking, having worked at Zambia National Commercial Bank and National Savings and Credit Bank before joining ZCGS. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration and Development Studies from the University of Zambia, as well as a Master of Science in Microfinance from the University of Bergamo in Italy and an MBA from Business School Netherlands, both achieved through scholarships. Additionally, she is a diploma holder in Banking and Finance from the Zambia Institute of Bankers and has completed various professional training programs, including a Harvard Business School course on Strategic Leadership in Financial Inclusion.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Mary is passionate about community development and financial inclusion. She has received training from the Coady Institute of Canada in Community-Based Microfinance and holds certificates in Credit Management and Compliance Management from recognized institutions. Outside of work, Mary is a dedicated mother of four and enjoys gardening, reading, and watching movies in her spare time.
