What can I expect from this training?

  • The training is highly interactive and focused on skills that are essential to building and maintaining climates of trust and collaboration between individuals and within teams and organizations.
  • The leadership skills taught in this course are immediately useful and can be quickly implemented.
  • Because the training is interactive and the tools are very practical, the program is ideal for a wide range of settings and educational levels.
  • A variety of teaching methods are used to enhance your learning experience and to help you put it easily into practice after the training: case studies, simulations, lectures, visualisations, self-assessment instruments, group debriefs, small group discussions, feedback instruments, work on real-life conflicts.
  • The program has produced strong research based results. One follow up research study tracked participants from nine countries over a six year period. In her report, Professor Mayte Barba, Director of Business Administration at Monterrey Tech University in Cuernavaca Mexico noted the following average gains:
    • A 49.5 percent increase in effectiveness for participants in reducing their own defensiveness in conflict,
    • A 44.8 percent increase in effectiveness at getting their interests met in conflicted situations,
    • A 31.5 percent increase in effectiveness at problem solving, and
    • A 26.4 percent increase in effectiveness at building and maintaining long-term climates of trust.

The workshop focuses on providing you with hands-on experiences to develop five essential skills for overcoming defensiveness and building successful relationships:

  • Collaborative Intention, when we perceive a threat to our wellbeing, we respons defensively. Learn how to stay non-defensive and commit to success in the relationships. [Read More here..]
  • Openness, the universal key to simplified relationships. Learn how to be open yourself and create a climate of openness where people feel safe enough to raise difficult issues.
  • Self-accountability and choice. Learn radical self-responsibility of the choices we make and the consequences of our choices.
  • Awareness of self and others, commit to know yourself and others well enough to explore and resolve difficult interpersonal issues.
  • Problem solving and negotiation, skillfully negotiate your way through inevitable conflicts in a way that supports rather than undermines the relationship.

What are the expected outcomes?

  • Develop key leadership skills that are crucial for effective collaboration and trust building.
  • Know how to create psychological safety so people feel safe to raise difficult issues.
  • Overcome defensiveness and support others to reduce their defensiveness.

Who developed the course?

Jim Tamm is a former judge and has mediated more than 2,000 employment disputes. He has handled more school strikes than anyone else in the United States. He has worked with conflict management for more than 35 years. Jim is part of the teaching staff for NASA’s Management Education Program and the International Management Program at IFL / Stockholm School of Economics

Ron Luyet is one of the founders of Green Zone Consulting Group and a senior consultant at Japanese BCon Inc. He knew and worked with Will Schutz for over 40 years. Jim and Ron created the Radical Collaboration Program.

Andrea Altier

Certified Radical Collaboration® Trainer in 2022.  Andrea is an experienced team and leadership coach with training in trauma healing. She is specialised  in facilitating organisational and personal transformational change to overcome systemic blockers, and limiting behavioural, mental or emotional patterns.

Helene Gelius Skyberg

Certified Radical Collaboration® Trainer in 2024 and will co-facilitate this training with Andrea Altier.
A former music executive, Helene is an experienced brand builder, with a diverse background spanning concept development, project management, social media, marketing, and, in more recent years, astrology and coaching, where we focus on empowerment through self-accountability and conscious choice.
